Conti's Nuvali

Conti's Nuvali

Pin It My cousins and I decided to take a joy ride to Nuvali and bring our grandfather with us. We just wanted to see what was there and take a break from all the work we've been doing. There were actually a couple of fun things to do there with the family. There's fish feeding, a boat ride and a bicycle path. You can rent out their bikes but be sure to wear rubber shoes. They strictly implement their 'no slippers allowed' rule.

Before anything else, we decided to have lunch at Conti's. It was my first time to try their Avocado Fruit Shake (P105) and it was thick and rich. You can really taste the avocado which I appreciated.

We started with Clam Chowder (P80) which was hot and tasty, though it was nothing out of the ordinary. You can try dipping their twisted bread stick into the soup for added texture.

The Conti's Baked Salmon (P350) is really good, with the soft crust on top a bit on the salty side. It's a good kind of salty thing though, as it gives flavor to the Norwegian pink salmon. The protein is paired with their version paella rice and buttered vegetables. I'm not a fan of the paella, mainly I just find it sticky. But if you like sticky rice then you'll enjoy it.

The Beef Salpicao (P350) is also one of their best sellers. The meat is quite juicy although I'd prefer smaller cuts of beef to avoid the sporadic rubbery texture of the meat. The dish is seasoned well and I like the garlicky flavor mixed with the sauce. If you'd care to upgrade the garlic rice to paella rice, you just have to add P25.

The Chicken Pastel (P195) I didn't get to try, but according to my cousin, it was really creamy and flavorful. This is served with garlic rice or paella rice (just add P30) and some buttered vegetables.

The Grilled Pork Chops (P250) comes with two pieces of the chops. The meat is a wee bit on the tough side but as you slice it and mix it with the sauce, it softens a bit and tastes good. The seasoning is spot on if you like your meat really well seasoned. And you can also opt for the saffron mushroom risotto (just add P20) instead of the garlic rice.

The Lechon Kawali (P250) is quite good. The pork skin is crunchy while the pork meat is tender. I also like the sweetness of the sauce, which really goes well with the meat. It's served with fresh lumpiang ubod and steamed rice.

The Iced Tea (P75) is pretty much the same one from any other restaurant. I miss their Iced Tea shake though. It's one of their signature drinks from way back in their first restaurant in BF Paranaque.

The Mango Shake (P80) is nice and sweet. You can really taste fresh mangoes unlike other shakes that just taste like mango syrup mixed with ice.

All in all, it was a very satisfying meal. And I guess you can really expect that from Conti's. It's comfort food at its finest.
