A healthy alternative to soft drinks and energy drinks.
I've come to love coconut water, albeit sometimes it's hard to get a consistent taste out of the fresh fruits, that I usually resort to those in tetra packs or bottles. When a package from Coco Royal arrived at my doorstep, I was pretty much excited to taste each one. It contained different flavored coconut waters, which aid in hydration, and fruit juices that refresh the body. Generally, these drinks were on the sweet side, so it was a nice surprise to learn that they have some nutritional health benefits.
The Coconut Water beverages come in three variants: the pure, the one with aloe vera, and the one with water chestnut. Among the three, I like the Aloe Vera the best as it has these little aloe pulps that's fun to munch on. The Water Chestnut also has tiny chestnut bits for texture. If you're not fond of drinking water, the Pure Coconut Water is a good choice. It has the hydrating quality of water, yet sweet to the taste. All these are best ice-cold; that's when you really feel the drink hydrates you as it goes down your throat.
Next were the Fruit Juices. I wasn't too fond of the Pineapple and Mango Juices, I felt them too sweet for my taste, but I loved the Basil Seed with Honey Juice. And no, it's not the same basil used for pesto. This one's from a plant called Tulsi or Holy Basil. Looking at the bottle, it seemed as if I were scrutinizing some organism under the microscope. I was consciously nibbling on each basil seed to make it pop -- my favorite part with every sip. Again, these are best consumed when chilled.
