Taste, crave, and live the flavor...
"I'll bring you to Wingstop," my mom told me one afternoon, knowing that I love flavored wings -- I used to go on weekly wings nights with my cousins in Calgary, Canada where they would offer baskets of wings at a discounted price. She and her friends tried it the day before, and loved it; hence, the urge to let me try it, too. We went to their Glorietta branch the following weekend with the family.
Wingstop is a casual place where modern meets industrial. The counter area proudly indicates that where wings are concerned, they are the experts. Off to the left is a large mural of graffiti-type design, and to the right, diners can enjoy watching while nibbling on their wings.
Pay attention to the house rules. Yes, they are not fast food, but yes, they're worth the wait.
Here's how to order: choose if you want wings, boneless chicken bites, or chicken tenders. For the first two, you can choose among 10 available flavors, and you can have different flavors in one order depending on the number of pieces you opted to have. My favorite is the Garlic Parmesan, and the Teriyaki is good if you want something sweet. Their spiciest flavor is the Atomic, but you might want to try the Mango HabaƱero for a more suitable amount of heat.
As for the chicken tenders, you get to choose what dip to pair them with. I personally like the Bleu Cheese and Honey Mustard.
There are also chicken sandwiches and sides, along with a selection of bottled and canned beverages. Do get the Garlic Parmesan Fries, they're fantastic!
After you've paid for your order, they'll give you a round disc that will light up when your order is ready for pick-up at the counter. Plastic gloves are available if you don't want to get your digits dirty, but I'd rather use my bare hands. Just don't forget to wash first, there's a sink with paper towels on the side.
Time to dig in!
Aaaand before I forget, you may be interested to win P2,000 worth of GCs from Wingstop.
