Views On Happiness

I have read several inspirational, motivational and self-enriching books like The Power of Positive Thinking by Napoleon Hill, The Secret by Rhonda Byrne, The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari by Robin S. Sharma, Law of Attraction by Michael J. Losier, Your Best Life Now by Joel Osteen, and Being Happy by Andrew Matthews, to name a few.

These books have common messages and lessons, though written and presented in many different ways. One of these is that in order to attain what you want in life, you have to stay positive and practice everyday gratitude. Be thankful for what you have now while aspiring and believing that what you want is on its way to you. Positive feelings and gratitude tend to magnetize your thoughts and dreams faster into becoming reality. One way of being positive and to feel this gratitude is by being happy.

Happiness, though sought after by many and thought to be elusive by some, is not really unattainable. It is not something that you can have because of another thing or another person. It is not, I will be happy when or if. Happiness is a decision and not an outcome of a situation. You have to decide for yourself that you will be happy today, that you will not be swayed by trivial things that are trying to edge negativity into your life.

Often times people attempt to live their lives backwards. They try to have more things, or more money, in order to do more of what they want, so they will be happier. The way it actually works is the reverse. You must first decide to be happy so you'll have the motivation to be who you really are, do what you need to do, in order to achieve what you want.
