In Print: Breakfast Magazine's December - January 2013

Surreal. For a budding writer like me, it's always surreal to see your name in print.

When I was invited by Breakfast Magazine to write an article for their Blogger Section in the December - January issue, I was ecstatic. I admire the people behind Breakfast, a young group who built this publishing company from the ground up right out of college. Every issue they print is an improvement over the last - a testament to their continuous perseverance and growth as they tread the path toward perfection - and this Holiday issue was no exception.

Theirs is a food magazine unlike any other. For one thing, their cover isn't of food, but of people who has a story to share laced with tales of culinary adventures. They have an abundance of recipes, most of which are straight from renowned chefs in the country, with a little backstory to boot. Restaurant features, tips on dining and entertaining, not to mention a section on gastronomic narratives written by local food bloggers; all these and more are what you'll see in each fascinating edition.

With traditions being the current theme, we were to write about a restaurant that reminds us of the Holidays no matter the season. Kulinarya Kitchen was the first to come to mind. It's a restaurant that exudes sophistication yet maintains that comfortable vibe. And the best part is, whatever I choose to order, I know it will be good, as I've had my share of dishes in this place with all my family and relatives, and thus far, I've yet to be disappointed.

Writing for a magazine is a thrill, albeit it's a given that there will always be constraints in the world of publishing. Nevertheless, there's nothing like seeing your name on paper, feeling like a giddy child on Christmas morning. My words, my photos, immortalized.

Please do get a copy of Breakfast's December - January 2013 issue with Richard Yap on the cover. It's available in all leading bookstores and newsstands. You can also subscribe via their website. I hope you enjoy reading and looking at the pictures as much as we all enjoyed writing and taking them. Feel free to write your comments, suggestions and feedback about my article or the magazine below. Thank you for your support! And thank you, Breakfast Magazine! :)
