Just keep swimming, just keep swimming...
The weekend we were invited to stay at B Hotel Alabang was one of the most memorable weekends I've had in recent memory. And I have Jane Go, the very sweet and lovely lady behind sugargospice.com, to thank for. The business hotel is casual yet elegant, the staff always have a ready smile and are noticeably accommodating to queries and requests. The rooms are well-lit and spacious, and the bathrooms are (thank goodness) very clean.
After our Friday lunch buffet at Prime Café, the management of B Hotel has extended its generosity by letting us use The Bellevue Hotel's pool.
Good thing we were armed with a few swimming essentials like these hip flip flops (P999) from Madil (pronounced as mā-dil). First off, I love the color of the one given to me -- slate. What's cool about it is that you can change the color of the bands (P150) to match whatever swimming outfit (or nail polish) you're sporting for that day. Plus, it has a removable charm (P200 regular; P250 with studs) which you can interchange with the various charms they offer as well.
Jane's pretty daughters also handed us a bag of beauty products from Sample Room. If you're still not familiar with it, Sample Room is a sampling site that lets your try different beauty products before you buy. Aside from giving out free product samples, it also provides reviews from beauty experts, partner bloggers, and those who've tried them. No more guessing if a product is effective for you or if it will give you an adverse reaction. Best of all, you don't need to waste money on purchases that only end up with cobwebs in the corner of your dresser. It's particularly genius, actually.
With that, it was time for some fun...
When we arrived at The Bellevue Poolside Tower, there were these gigantic board games provided by SupersizedPH. It was very amusing to watch the adults play with them, especially Richie a.k.a. The Pickiest Eater in the World, with all his antics and crazy dramatizations. These supersized games are great entertainment for parties and get-togethers, as kids and kids at heart will certainly enjoy physically engaging with them.
Finally, it was time for an afternoon swim...
Located at the hotel's tower wing, the poolside overlooks nearby office buildings in Filinvest. Below the "bridge" leading to the pool by the entryway is a pond filled with large koi in different shades of sunshine. The pool itself was long and wide, and only about 4 feet deep so the big kids can swim by themselves, while their parents keep an eye from the bar or from any of the numerous seats at the pool's perimeter. There is an adjacent kiddie pool near the bar for the smaller children.
The Poolside has several beach chairs and sectional lounge areas with a seating capacity of about a hundred guests. At the far opposite end of the bar is an area (the same spot where the supersized games were placed) where you can set up a small buffet spread and have an intimate party with friends, which is what we had the following night. Watch out for my Barbecue Buffet Night post!
