Four new burgers at the tavern...
Village Tavern is one of my favorite restos in The Bistro Group. After hearing about Chef Josh Boutwood's new premium burger creations, I dragged my mom and daughter for a late lunch. I needed a break from cooking and Wagyu burgers sound amazingly delicious.
Bread with Olive Oil Dip and Iced Tea
Kids' Spaghetti
While waiting for the food, we were given complimentary bread that's warm to the touch. Feeling famished, I broke a piece and dipped it into the herbed olive oil. Nice, but I prefer Italianni's version of the dip with some balsamic vinegar.
My daughter opted for the kids' spaghetti, which unfortunately she didn't like. It had an interesting Italian tomato-ish start rounded with a sweet finish. My mom and I liked it a lot, and debated on who would eat that when we got home, haha!
Monte Carlo Wagyu Burger (P695)
Octoberfest Wagyu Burger (P675)
Mexican Wagyu Burger (P650)
As for the burgers, I was contemplating on getting either the Monte Carlo or the Waldorf since my mom beat me to ordering the Octoberfest. I finally decided on the Monte Carlo: Wagyu patty topped with St. Nectaire cheese, black olive tapenade, and Prosciutto ham. The Wagyu patty itself was good, I requested it to be cooked medium, and it was juicy enough to enjoy. However I'm not really a fan of olives, and on hindsight, maybe I should have gone with the Waldorf instead.
I took a couple of bites from my mom's Octoberfest burger, and this one I liked better. It has Swiss cheese and braised red onions, and served with some beer mustard which I absolutely loved. Hope they sell this in a bottle or jar so I could enjoy it with other meats at home.
I got the Mexican Wagyu burger for my husband since he's a fan of spicy stuff. It's flame grilled Wagyu patty topped with chili and spicy queso sauce. When I asked him how it was (since I couldn't take another more bite), he said it was good. The smell of it alone was enticing, and I was actually salivating while looking at it.
If you love burgers, head on to BGC and try Chef Boutwood's new creations.
